At Maui, we’re passionate about bringing pure wholesome sheep milk powder and products to the world—we believe it’s the next big thing in mainstream health.

Maui Milk's story began with a privately owned sheep dairy farm in the heart of New Zealand. Fast forward a few years and we now have an additional thirteen independently-owned sheep milk supply farms based in the Waikato, this number growing each year.

The Maui Milk Timeline

Maui Milk was born in 2014 out of a very simple belief, that New Zealand has all the ingredients necessary to create a better, more nutritious, and more sustainable dairy product for the world.

In 2021 Maui Food Group formed to align Maui Milk’s genetics programme, milk production, processing and marketing, supporting us to take our sheep milk to the world.

Southern Cross™

Since 2015, we have made dramatic progress on both genetic improvement and farm system development. We’ve focused on developing profitable, stable and sustainable farms to showcase to New Zealand farmers that sheep dairy farming is an industry worth investing in.

The Southern Cross™ created by our genetic programme is now registered as a new breed by the NZ Sheep Breeders Association. Maui Milk suppliers have easy access to new Southern Cross™ rams every season which assures them of genetic gain and genetic diversity.
