Each year, the Maui Milk team looks forward to hosting a special end-of-year event with our supply farmers.
It is a chance to step away from the day-to-day demands of farming and processing, come together as a team, reflect on the season that has been, and enjoy some well-earned fun.
This year, we headed to the Waikato Clay Target Club for an afternoon of clay bird shooting. It was a fantastic opportunity to try something different, enjoy some friendly competition, and share plenty of laughs along the way.
One of the highlights of the day was discovering that one of our supply farmers, Allen, had previously competed in clay target shooting and arrived with his own gear, ready to put his experience to good use. Not to be outdone, Maui Milk CEO Malcolm gave Allen a strong challenge, and the competition came down to an exciting shoot-off. In the end, Allen proved too good and took home the title for 2026.
As is tradition, the winner of our annual end-of-season event is awarded the coveted Green Jacket, a classic farmer-style green coat that has become a light-hearted symbol of victory. Congratulations, Allen, on a well-deserved win!
The afternoon also gave us the opportunity to recognise excellence across our supply farms through our Milk Quality Awards. These awards celebrate the commitment and attention to detail our farmers bring to producing high-quality sheep milk every day.
This season, we recognised the hard work and dedication of our suppliers by presenting awards for Best APC, Best BMSCC, Lowest BMSCC, and the Performance Achievement Award. Congratulations to all the farmers who received awards. Your dedication to quality and continual improvement is a key part of Maui Milk’s success.
To round out the day, everyone gathered at the New Hamilton Hotel to enjoy dinner together. It was a great chance to relax and celebrate the strong partnerships that make our business possible.
